On this point, man has to direct himself towards the common good. But, man has some transcendence as person, so man is the transcendent part in the community. Therefore man’s movement towards happiness directs to the common good on the assumption that man directs himself towards his ultimate end, i.e., bliss. Additionally, the movement itself is directed by some habits. Man's rational powers are determinate to acts by means of habits. And man can reach his happiness by means of good habits, i.e., virtues.
