Though Augustine's theory of time is famous for its psychological analysis, we find his true intention in his construction of the christian cosmology (creation theory) with help of some Greek philosophical conceptions, as seen in a series of texts of his exposition of Genesis. It is generally accepted that Plotinus' Enneades has a great influence on Augustine's theory of time, eternity and soul, especially in the description of the distention of soul (distentio animae).
